Evangelism plays a vital part of everything we do.

We recognise the call of Jesus to “go and make disciples…baptising them…and teaching them” (Matthew 28 v 19 – 20).  We openly share our faith in the hope that others will find the friendship with the Father through Jesus that is central to our lives.

We also recognise that everyone has different gifts and abilities and so we approach evangelism in several ways.

On the second Saturday of each month we set up stall in the Shopping Centre in Clydebank to offer prayer for healing.  To date we have seen God heal people of many different conditions ranging from fibromyalgia, to dispraxia, from frozen shoulders to having one leg shorter than the other!  If you would like prayer, or if you would be interested in joining us please get in touch.

This year we have begun a progamme of block pastoring.  The idea behind this is to try to instill in the people who live in the estate around the church that we are here for them, whether or not they choose to attend our Sunday services.  Every Wednesday morning we take a section of the estate and visit each household introducing ourselves and asking folks if there is anything that we as a church can do for them. This not a recruitment drive but a  genuine attempt to let our neighburs know that  there a God that loves them.

Deeper is a skate church run by Overtoun House Christian Centre, in partnership with Unit 23 in Dumbarton.  Every Thursday night from 7pm kids from all over West dunbartonshire come to Unit 23 for an evening of free boarding, blading and bmxing and a God talk!  As a church we have always been fully behind this project and have become more personally involved this year as part of our desire to reach every part of our community.

In August 2007 Clydebank College moved into its new premises by the river.  As our church is just across the road we decided this was a perfect time to begin working with the students in our town. So in February 2008 we started a Christian Union which meets on a Tuesday at 12.30pm.  There are approx 20 staff and students who have attended to date.  The group is still in its forming stage but we hope to be able to strengthen and resource the christians who are in the college in their own faith and in their witness to their friends and colleagues.  For more info please get in touch.

We also run an Alpha Course which provides a safe and open environment for people who are interested in finding out more about what the Christian faith is all about.  If you'd be interested in joining our next Alpha course please get in touch.
